Internationally collected artist, David Schor and Fleming Restaurant in Pinecrest have combined to present unique evenings of art, cuisine and a special mixture of fun, entertainment and excitement.
One or two evenings a month, the private dining room of Fleming Restaurant has become a combination art gallery, auction house, and of course, private dining room.
As many as eighteen couples, wine glasses in hand circle the room, examining artist David Schor's original paintings, making notes on their programs as they go: Water falls in Maui, the coast of southern France, waves breaking on the rocky shore of Italy, a Key West sunset, impressionistic paintings that capture the artist's love of sailing....
David Schor, whose collectors are from as varied locations as Italy, France, Australia, Germany, Holland, and the U,S.A. has assembled an array of his paintings from many locations, worldwide, which fascinate the attendees.
Once a sumptuous five course meal has begun, each piece of art is brought to the spot-lit main easel where the artist explains the painting and its history.
"I appreciated the stories David shared regarding the emotion and locale of each." reported an attendee at one of the events.
Before the first of five delicious courses was served, the excitement begins. Announcing that live bidding would take place for the painting on display, the artist launches into a humorous, yet effective imitation of a professional auctioneer which has the participants gasping for air as a result of uncontrolled laughter. The bidding on each painting ends with a very excited winner being cheered with enthusiastic applause from everyone.
"I never thought I would be able to buy one of David Schor's originals... but the price I bid for it was unbelievably reasonable. I still can't believe I won it." exalted another attendee.
David Schor is the artist who created the original paintings for the YMCA of the USA's 'Four Values' and for the Rotary International's 'Four Way Test', all of which have been published, worldwide.
